Carlos Butler Almécija

I am a creator of things. I am an engineer. I admire well built objects.

Having always built and fixed things throughout my life, from LEGO to vintage motorcycles, startups to multi-hundred-million-euro systems, creation is something at my heart. That, and perfecting the best croissant on earth.

Perhaps because creation, life and the constant of time, go so hand in hand, I am drawn to capturing unique moments on 35mm film-camera and video. I don't really share this passion online, but you'll find some at the bottom of this page.

However fond I am of the arts, more so indie films and jazz, places like C. London where I grew up simply didn't work for me any more and in 2025 I officially moved to my other homeland: Spain. The freedom of such lands are too difficult to ignore. It opens not just the body but the mind, which flows far more freely. Stereotypical, maybe, but such stereotypes are grounded in reality.

Contradicting the dogmatic view of "gay open-minded engineer", I am 100% vintage sports car afficionado. I care little for the frivolities of a hybrid-blabla-Ferrari glorified washing machine. The sensation, the smell, the aching face from smiling for hours on end one gets from driving a 280SL Pagoda down a twisty road is simply second to none. Although drifting my AMG around a wet roundabout 3 times is (childish) fun also.
